- Tom Cruise was born on March 12th, 1962. He is American actor and producer. His father was a naval officer, and his mother was an actress. He grew up in California and attended Hollywood High School. In 1981 he graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in economics. In 2001 he starred in the hit movie “Mena” which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He later played Ethan Hunt in the popular spy series “Mission Impossible”. In 2005 he produced, wrote and directed the critically acclaimed movie “Eyes Wide Shut” which won him several awards including Golden Globe Awards for Best Director and Best Screenplay. In 2008 he released the movie “Warcraft” which became a huge success earning over $500 million worldwide.

In 1992 he married Nicole Kidman who gave birth to their daughter Isabella Amara Kidman. They divorced in 1998 after five years of marriage. In 2000 he married Katie Holmes who gave birth to Suri in 2004. They were married for seven years until they divorced in 2007. In 2009 he married Scientologist Jenna Louise Coleman. Their wedding ceremony took place in front of friends and family at the Church of Scientology headquarters in Los Angeles. In 2011 they welcomed twins Connor and Carys. They got engaged in 2012 and got married in 2013.

- Tom Cruise is a big fan of Star Wars. He has said that he loves watching the original trilogy every day. He even tried out for the role of Luke Skywalker when George Lucas was casting the parts. He was not selected, but he did meet Mark Hamill who eventually landed the role. Later he would star in the prequel films “Revenge of the Sith” and “Return of the Jedi”.
- Tom Cruise likes to take risks. He once jumped off a cliff while filming a scene for the movie “Jerry Maguires”. He fell 40 feet down a steep hillside and broke both legs. The stunt was done by accident as he was trying to avoid hitting a tree. When he realized what happened he asked the director if he could do another take. He did the same stunt again and this time he hit the tree.
- Tom Cruise doesn’t drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. He says that he tries to live a healthier lifestyle. He eats mostly fruits and vegetables and drinks plenty of water.
